  • Discuss your ideas with Dr- Zeng- Very likely, your first idea will not be accepted- So, bring as many ideas to group meeting as possible- The above steps will go through multiple iterations-

  • Review literature to survey the related work- A summary table is needed to describe the existing work and the position of your work in the literature- Present your summary table in group meeting- It is important to answer the following questions:

    • how does your work differ from prior work?

    • how does your work advance the knowledge?

    • why is your work important?

  • Define the scope of your work, formulate your problem, and explore possible solutions

  • Implement your solution and evaluate their performance (experimental evaluation is a must whenever possible)

  • Present your results in group meeting- Very likely, the above two steps will go through multiple iterations
